A bit of British culture/ Λίγη από την Αγγλική κουλτούρα
English culture is known worldwide because in many countries of the world,
which were previously English colonies, the English left their mark on
architecture, the arts, cuisine, music, science, language, even on sports.
Through the process of learning English, a student gets to taste quite a few
samples of English culture.
Η κουλτούρα της Αγγλίας είναι
γνωστή παγκοσμίως διότι σε πολλές χώρες του κόσμου οι οποίες ήταν αγγλικές
αποικίες, οι Άγγλοι σηματοδότησαν την παρουσία τους με την αρχιτεκτονική, τις
τέχνες, την κουζίνα, την μουσική, τις επιστήμες, τη γλώσσα, τη λογοτεχνία καθώς
και τον αθλητισμό τους. Μέσα από το ταξίδι της εκμάθησης της Αγγλικής γλώσσας ο
σπουδαστής θα γευτεί αρκετά παραδείγματα της σύγχρονης Αγγλικής κουλτούρας.
Music / Μουσική
England has a rich music history which is worldwide popular. In 1968 in
Liverpool “the Beatles” with John Lennon’s and Paul McCartney’s songwriting,
they became the most famous performers/ musicians in their times and ours. They
paved the way for other popular bands including The Rolling Stones, The
Hollies, The Who, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Genesis, Iron Maiden,
Pink Floyd.
Η Αγγλία έχει πλούσια μουσική ιστορία η οποία παγκοσμίως είναι γνωστή. Το
1962 στο Λίβερπουλ οι "Beatles", με τις συνθέσεις των John Lennon και
Paul McCartney έγιναν οι πιο διάσημοι μουσικοί της εποχής τους. Άνοιξαν τον δρόμο και για άλλα δημοφιλή συγκροτήματα όπως: The
Rolling Stones, The Hollies, The Who, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath,
Genesis, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd.
Football / Ποδόσφαιρο
Football in Britain is an integral part of British culture. It evolved into
a family matter after two difficult decades, from 1970 to 1990, where
hooliganism between opposing teams brought on dark times in British football
history. Today, who doesn’t know David Beckam, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerard and
the teams Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool!
Το ποδόσφαιρο στην Αγγλία αποτελεί
αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι της κουλτούρας των Άγγλων. Εξελίχτηκε σε οικογενειακή
υπόθεση μετά από δύο δύσκολες δεκαετίες, από το 1970 έως το 1990, όπου ο
χουλιγκανισμός μεταξύ των αντίπαλων φιλάθλων επέφερε μαύρες σελίδες στην
ιστορία του αγγλικού ποδοσφαίρου. Σήμερα, ποιός δεν γνωρίζει τους David
Beckam, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerard και τις ομάδες Manchester
United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool;
Cuisine / Κουζίνα
English/British cuisine is characterized by its
simplicity and the use of fresh ingredients. Everybody knows the
“EnglishBreakfast”, consisting of eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, toast,
fried tomato and mushrooms. Other famous English dishes are:

Η αγγλική κουζίνα χαρακτηρίζετε για
την απλότητά της και την χρήση φρέσκων υλικών. Το "English Breakfast"
(Αγγλικό Πρωινό) είναι γνωστό παγκοσμίως και αποτελείται από αυγά, μπεϊκον,
λουκάνικα, φασόλια, φρυγανισμένο ψωμί, ψητή ντομάτα και μανιτάρια. Μερικά άλλα γνωστά αγγλικά πιάτα είναι:
